To help publicise Open Farm Sunday, LEAF will provide host farmers with posters, flyers, postcards, generic press release and roadside notice boards.
Posters - these are for you to personalise and put up in local shops, libraries and supermarkets (with permission of course)! Click here to download an Open Farm Sunday poster
Flyers – these are for you to put in local shops or to hand out to neighbours, local schools, clubs and societies. One side will have general information about Open Farm Sunday and how to find a farm to visit, the other side will be left blank if you would like to personalise it with details about your event.Click here to download an Open Farm Sunday flyer.
Postcards – these can either be used to invite your friends, family and neighbours or given to your visitors on the big day. Click here to download an Open Farm Sunday postcard.
Road Side Boards – these are to be put up next to busy roads or outside the farm entrance two or three weeks before the big day. There are three different boards to be placed at suitable distances apart so people can read them as they drive past. Please remove them as soon as the event has finished. Click here to view an Open Farm Sunday road side notice board.
Road Side Arrows – these are smaller signs for you to produce an arrow from by cutting the appropriate side with a pair of scissors or Stanley knife, these perhaps do not need to be put up until the day. Please keep them safe for next year! Click here to view an Open Farm Sunday road side arrow.
Generic Press Release – this is for you to personalise and send to the local media. If you want to attract lots of people to your event, then working with the media is a great way to do this. Click here for generic press release.
Word of mouth – One very effective way to promote your Open Farm Sunday event is by working with local schools. Speaking at assemblies and giving children flyers to go home with is a great way to attract families. Or even getting schoolchildren to work on projects about the farm, which they can then demonstrate on Open Farm Sunday, when the children could play a role in informing visitors about the farm and the food it produces.
